Rating: - Nice packaging, shame about the recording
Great wonderful music - you don't need me to tell you that. The excellent score from a much loved film, this contains some timeless moments. And given that a lot of money has clearly been spent updating the packaging and background detail, you'd be forgiven for thinking the producers would have taken the trouble to remaster the music. I'm sure you have seen the film and loved it. Though I only saw it in 2003 and wondered what took me so long. I love this film so much and decided to buy the soundtrack to listen to it in the kitchen as I am preparing the evening meal. I love listning to it and singing along, especialy to "POSH!" There are so many good songs on this album. This would be a great gift for the kids and great to singalong to in the car on a holiday. Every song brings back a happy memory of the film. ... Read More
Rating: - Nearly as good as watching the film!
Good CD , really enjoyable only thing I could personally fault is that the music from the scene of the 'music box' does not have full music like the film...so perhaps for ones purchasing this out there who maybe like us want to perform the duo between truly and Mr Potts ..Mr Potts entrance music from the box is absent...it contains just the second part of them both singing.I know this will not apply to the majority but it may be useful info to some, like it would have been to us before purchasing.I ... Rating: - Original Is Best
While not decrying the stage revival, this is the essential album as it is the soundtrack to the much loved 1968 family film. A long time coming to CD but worth the wait. All the film songs are on here with highlights including "Me Ol Bamboo" "Truly Scrumptious" "Toot Sweets" and the different versions of the classic title song. This is sung by the original cast Dick Van Dyke, Sally Ann Howes etc and is a great CD for all the family.
