Rating: - The best yet...
This album is in my opinion the best from Kid Rock yet. Whilst his first three mainstream albums; 'Devil Without A Cause', 'The History Of Rock' and 'Cocky', were each wonderful in their own right, this album has seen Kid Rock take a big right turn in the maturity of his music. This album sees far less of his rap/hip hop roots (although strong evidence of this still remains in the track titled 'Intro' which curiously isn't at the start of the album, but rather half way through it), and focuses much ... Rating: - The Kid Who Grew Up (Maybe He Should Change His Name)
I've listened to Kid Rock for a long time. Ever since the early days of Grit Sandwiches. When Devil Without A Cause hit the stores I was in love! His hard rock edge and hip-hop roots mixed well. Add into that his country like tints and his respect for those who came before him. When Cocky came out he still had a hard edge but more of a softer element to the music. With the soft and poppy Picture with Sheryl Crowe but one of my favourite hip-hop songs ever WCSR with Snoop Dogg. With the simply titled ... Read More
Rating: - Very Different
Kid Rock is a man with supreme respect not only for himself and his country but for the people who have made it possible for him to do what he does, and I don't mean pushing around some stupid DJ. This album creates a more realistic country feel to his music, and gives more meaning to man who wrote Picture. He sounds like he's been doing country music for years, but don't forget about hip hop when you listen to this album because its there, the cocky attitude, the bad ass turntables and screaming metal ... Rating: - A change from the ordinary
This is a fantastic album! It's definitely a change from Cocky and Devil Without a Cause. Regardless, I happen to think that this album is genius and continues to show Kid Rock's fabulous talents as a musician. The songs are a blend of country mixed with rock. Rock N Roll Pain Train is in my opinion, one of the best Kid Rock songs I have ever heard.
I am and Single Father are emotional, thought-provoking songs of beauty. This album is a definite necessity for any true Kid Rock fan!

Having been a massive fan of Kid Rock for many years, the arrival of this self titled 4th major label album had me filled with great excitement. On the back of the rather musically and lyrically laid back Cocky, I was expecting yet another stellar effort, and Kid didn't disappoint.
Kicking off with Rock 'n' Roll Pain Train, the song is a great opener with some smooth acoustic guitar work and superb vocals. The song has a great tempo and is very lively, but you notice a rather different style. ... Read More
