Rating: - On the right track but not quite there yet
A new decade, a new drummer, a new producer and a pretty damn good effort from AC/DC. Production-wise, The Razors Edge harks back to HTH, BIB and FTATR. Bruce Fairbairn adds polish to the proceedings without being too obtrusive and the songs, whilst not being all-time DC classics, crackle along nicely. Standouts include Moneytalks, Are You Ready and, of course, Thunderstruck - probably the one bona fide classic on the album.
My one criticism is directed at Chris Slade. Like Simon Wright, ... Read More
Rating: - "You've Been Thunderstruck" Wooooooooo.
This is a cool AC/DC album to have in you're Rock/Metal collection, as it has some of AC/DCs best songs on here. Sadly with this album there's a lack of effort towards the end as it starts to sound very repetitive and boring BUT there are some killer songs here. Thunderstruck which is one of AC/DCs best song and has such an awesome rock n roll intro. Fire Your Guns is another great fast track, the lyrics are good the vocals are good just a great AC/DC song. Moneytalks, The Razor's Edge, Mistress For Christmas ... Read More
Rating: - One of the best of the Johnson era.
Although when most people talk about AC/DC it is about the Bon Scott era, nobody can deny they haven't released a duff album. Although the Johnson era is overlooked, a lot of good albums were made and The Razor's Edge is one of the best.
My only grip with it is the mistress for Christmas track. To me it's nothing but a cynical cash-in for commercial success by the boys. This is stopping me from giving it a 5. You can tell I have a bee in my bonnet about this track. Apart from that the album is top ... Read More
Rating: - Back on Black and back on track
This is the cd where I thought AC/DC got back on track, I rate this an the ones that followed it, Ballbreaker & Stiff Upper Lip as the best since Back in Black, stand out tracks are Thunderstruck, Fire Your Guns, Money Talks & Razors Edge
Rating: - AC/DC SHOULD HAVE QUIT AFTER SCOTT DIED
As if the stupid acronym title isn't bad enough, this CD has Brian Johnson on it and we all know that AC/DC was done for after Scott died. They should have quit right there and not gone through the shame of awful vocals brought to them by Johnson the imposter. Any CDs without Scott are awful because of the vocalists, and if you want to experience the unobstructed raw power of Angus Young's guitar playing then you need to purchase any of the Scott albums. I most recommend "Highway to Hell". But that's the album ... Read More
