Have been a fan since the early days with my scratchy vinyl and audio cassettes Switched on recordings - which have long worn out. This reprocessed version is excellent and also enjoyed the explanitary sections Wendy puts in. Remembering the early days of the monophonic Moogs through to the extraordinarily 'easy' time for today's artistes makes you really appreciate the effort the musicians, engineers, producers put in to provide us with such superb entertainment. I was in my teens. You don't know "Switched on Bach"? they taunted. Over the next few years, the first and second of these pieces of vinyl were never far from being played in my house. Indeed, they were played more than anything else. I taped it: Listened to it in the car for years. And twenty years later, I realised I needed to hear it again and again, and dug out the old tape. I "lost" my vinyl copy of "Switched On Bach" some 25 years ago, it simply wore out! I was never able to replace on CD, until now! And those 25 years have shrunk into blissful delight as I relieve this innovative masterpiece. A beautiful collection which sounds sharp and fluid. The whole presentation of this set is immaculate. Okay, so I am biased. Time has not lessened the power of this work. Hailed as a "Masterpiece" on its release in 1968(!) and recipient of many awards and accolades. It paved the ... Read More
